Through our Animal Welfare and Conservation Policy, we are committed to preventing the illegal trade of wildlife and encourage responsible, sustainable tourism.
As part of our carbon offset programme, we’ve committed to purchasing carbon offsets to neutralise the CO2 emissions of our flagship 787-10 Greenliner aircraft for a full year.
The programme supports Carbon Tanzania’s Makame Savannah project; an initiative with robust certifications and verifications to meaningfully protect and conserve wildlife, endangered species and local communities.
Because we care
Etihad Airways was one of the first airlines to sign the United for Wildlife Transport Taskforce Declaration, and have strict protocols in place relating to the carriage of animals, plants and their products.
Engaging with key stakeholders at the local level, including the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Abu Dhabi Police and Customs on combatting the illegal wildlife trade through capacity building, we also advocate responsible tourism through the #Etihad4Wildlife awareness campaign.
