We work closely with our partner, Emirates Red Crescent, as well as local and international charities to raise funds and awareness for causes that are close to our heart – and the hearts of our teams.
We are committed to supporting relief and recovery efforts to strengthen communities after disasters, and donate our own assets as well as engaging our guests through advocacy and awareness.
To maximise the impact of our charity work, our leading responsibility programme has been built on four key pillars: humanitarian aid, global education initiatives, safe and stable housing for children in need and empowerment through development.
Building on Etihad’s efforts to promote education around the world, this pillar focuses on renovating schools and providing education supplies across India, Kenya, Lebanon, Serbia, Greece, Morocco, Egypt, Hong Kong, Philippines, Yemen, Bosnia, Uganda, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Since launching in 2013, we have helped pave the way for a brighter future for more than 140,000 children across the globe.
We believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home. We provide clean, stable accommodation for disadvantaged children across the world, providing them with the opportunity they need to continue their education and secure a better future.
As part of our ongoing responsibility programme, we launched the Change initiative in 2019; our onboard cash collection project which aims to create a long lasting and positive impact on communities around the world.
Every time you fly with us, you’ll find an envelope in your seat pocket. If you’d like to donate, simply leave your spare change in the envelope and our crew will collect it at the end of the flight. You can donate in any currency you like. The money raised through this initiative will support refugee children in Kenya and help to make a positive change to their lives.
If you are an Etihad Guest member, you can use your miles to donate to the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and you’ll help send a refugee child in Kenya back to school and provide them with the healthcare services they need.
This initiative focuses on promoting relief efforts and ending suffering for good. During the last nine years, Etihad has supported refugees and underprivileged communities in Greece, Serbia, Bosnia, Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Philippines, Nepal and Bangladesh.
We empower women, people of determination and other underprivileged communities through education and training, helping to create more incusive societies where everyone has an equal opportunity of a bright future.
